The First Republic was a parliamentary republic that lasted until a military coup in 1966.

Legacy: All though he received a lot of personal accolades to his name and a street in Aubja named after him, we cannot identify or attribute a legacy that has benefited the community he served in the Eastern Region.

Legacy: He established Abiriba hospital (1936–1945) and later superintended mission hospitals at Itu and Uburu which served his community. Ibiam was responsible for the Bible Society of Nigeria in addition to all the personal accolades that was awarded to him.

Legacy: His literary works as a poet contributed to education, inspiration and exposure of the Nigerian culture. His works are published and benefits the community. His contribution impacted the lives of people.

Legacy: He was a notable voice for the northern interests. He was a member of one of the alliance that formed Nigeria's first federal government which led to independence from Britain in 1960.

Legacy: He played key roles in the establishment of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital and also founded Saint Nicholas Hospital in Lagos, which opened in March 1968.

Legacy: He formed the administrative set up that transformed the ancient town of Ife in the next decade. He personally funded the construction of the Oduduwa College Secondary School, a model institution at the time. A great landmark of his reign pertaining education was the foundation of the University of Ife. Oba Aderemi constructed the main building of his palace, which remains a mainstay of the Ife palace to date - with its unique colonial-style. His reign as Ooni was remarkably peaceful. He created a pathway to wealth for a lot of indigenes, especially in the agriculture industry
